The desire, passion, power and innovation of Surrealism are captured in this exhilerating CD. Commissioned by The Metropolitan Museum of Art as a companion to a major Surrealism exhibition appearing at Tate Modern in London and the MET, this CD features influential works by Maurice Ravel, Darius Milhaud, Erik Satie, Bela Bartók and other composers having strong associations with René Magritte, Jean Cocteau, André Breton and other leaders of the Surrealism movement. Included are rousing renditions of Boléro and the theme to one of the most famous surrealistic films of all time, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Running Time: 55:45
